Educated at Eton College (1935-40) and Christ Church, Oxford (1946-47). Died 25 January 1986, burial at Hunsdon 9 March 1986. morial at St. Michael's, Cornhill, London, 10 March 1986.

      5th Lord Aldenham. Eton College Cricket XI 1940; Eton Society ('Pop' 1940. Served in Royal Navy from December 1940 (ordinary seaman) to June 1946. (Lieutenant R.N.V.R.) mainly in destroyers in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, 2 convoys to Russia (Murmansk). Landings in North Africa (Oran), Italy (Anzio) and Normandy. 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, North Atlantic Star and Africa Star, Victory Medal.

      Read P.P.E. at Christ Church, Oxford, after the War. Joined Antony Gibbs and Sons September 1947 and was sent to the Chilean office; May 1948 Santiago; November 1948-September 1950 Valparaiso, and was responsible for opening a new office in Osorno October 1950-March 1951. Director of Antony Gibbs and Sons 1954-1980.

      Maiden Speech in the House of Lords, June 1974, on the National Health Service, Member of Finance Committee of Regional Health Authority, N. Thames since 1974. Member Royal Yacht Squadron 1977. Member of Lloyds Underwirters 1977, 1978 Chairman of Appeal for St. Albans Abbey Restoration Fund. Clubs: R.Y.S., M.C.C., Pratts. Lived at Stanstead Lodge, Stanstead Abbotts, Ware, Herts from 1951-80, and then Rimpton Manor, Yeovil, Somerset.
