    Only daughter of Richard Somerville Wood, for whose lineage see Wood of Givernyfed, co. Brecon, in Burke's 'Landed Gentry', by Frances Harriet, elder daughter of Afleck Moodie, barrister-at-law. Baptised at the English Church at Kurseong.

    In the Great War served in the Voluntary Aid Detachment of Red Cross Society, and (1916) in Secretarial work under Lady Carson providing for the needs of the men of the Ulster Division.

    Edith married Charles Stanley Mordaunt on 5 Jun 1915 in Chelsea, London. Charles (son of Lieut. Colonel James Sparrow Mordaunt and Harriet Theresa Gibbs) was born on 4 Jun 1886 in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset; died on 4 May 1946 in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
