    • Heir at law to Pytte, but did not succeed to it. His baptism in the Parish Register of Clyste St. George is the first entry in which the surname is clearly spelt Gibbs. For a conjectural portrait of him bought in 1912 see the book 'Antony & Dorothea Gibbs' by J. A. Gibbs. His will, proved by his widow, mentions sons George Abraham, John and daughter Anna.
