Director of the Faversham Oyster Fishery Company; Trustee of the Edward James Foundation. Member of the Diocesan Advisory Committee, Diocese of Canterbury 1979. Trustee of the J Paul Getty Jr. Charitable Trust in 1985.
By family agreement, on the death of his mother, inherited the Manor and advowson of Clifton Hampden, 1980.
