Called to the Bar (Inner Temple) 1921. Contested Parliamentary Division of Mansfield co. Notts., 1929 as Conservative. Chairman of Coningsby Club, 1925-26. K.C. 1947; J.P. 1949-52; Special Commissioner for Trial of Matrimonial Causes 1953; County Court Judge 1961-66.
