Chairman for many years of Chelsea Branch of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and made an Honorary Member of the Council in 1954 in recognition of services to the cause. Former Chairman of the South Kensington Branch of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and in 1978 elected a Life Governor for services rendered to the Fund. Author of gardening articles in The Royal Horticultural Society's journal The Garden (Vol. 101, Part 12, December 1976, p. 573-574) and also in House and Garden. She and her husband both enjoy gardening and travelling.
