Joined Blyth Greene Jourdain & Co., in City of London, 1913, and worked in the Christ Church Mission at Poplar under Rev. John S. Gibbs. Volunteered for service on outbreak of the Great War. 2nd Lieut., 8th (City of London) Battn. (Post Office Rifles) of the London Regt., 7 Sept. 1914, Captain November 15, Adjutant; wounded 28 April 1917 at cross roads between Mory and Ecoust St. Mein, nr. Bapaume, France, and invalided for the rest of the War. British War Medal and Allies' (Victory) Medal.

      In Mauritius from 1919 with Blyth Brothers & Co. (sometime Senior Partner). O.B.E. 1932 for services in the cyclone of Mar. 1931. M.L.C. Mauritius 1932-40, Hon. Netherlands Consul, Port Louis, Managing Director and Chairman Blyth, Greene, Jourdain and Co. Ltd. London 1959-62,

      1st Island Commander of Boys Scouts, Mauritius (Silver Wolf).
