In later years, he started up his own business (with the blessing of his wife Bess (Betty) which he called Rev-up Citroen from which he worked as a mechanic from the back of his van. When his wife became very ill, he ceased work.
His memorial service will be held when conditions allow in Lentwardine in Shropshire which was his last parish
