- 2nd daughter of Sydney R Christie-Miller of Clarnedon Park, Salisbury (see his lineage in Burke's 'Landed Gentry'), by Evelyn Norah, daughter of H.S. Vandeleur of Cahiracon, co. Clare (Burke's 'Landed Gentry of Ireland').
In 1938 joined the newly formed Auxiliary Territorial Service, raising a Company at Salisbury, Wiltshire. Served at Bulford Camp, Wiltshire from August 1939-44. In January 1948 elected Member of the East Sussex County Council at a bye-election for the Barcombe Division, contesting and winning two further Elections. Chairman of numerous Committees, including the Children's Committee. Elected County Alderman of East Sussex County Council 1962. Retired January 1968.
