    Baptised 18 October 1885 at Hagley. Educated at Haileybury College, 1899-1904, matric. at Oxford (Keble College) 1904, BA 1911, MA 1913, student at Coddesdon Theological College, 1910-11.

    Died unmarried 29 March 1918, being killed in the Great War at Boisleux-le-Mont and was buried at Boisleux-le-Mont Communal Cemetery. Memorial Inscription there and Memorial window at Hagley. Will proved London 13 November 1918.

    Deacon 1911; Priest 1912; Curate of Woodlands, nr. Doncaster, 1911-13. Chaplain to Archbishop of York 1913-17. In the Great War he was voluntary chaplain for the Red Cross Society to the Anglo-American hospital at Wimereux 1915-17; chaplain to 4th Cavalry Brigade in France September-November 1917; chaplain to 1st Bn. Grenadier Guards November 1917 till his death. Brit. War medal and Allies' (Victory) medal of the Great War, issued to his mother.
