Commanded 8th Battalion. Justice of the Peace for Hampshire County. High Sherriff of Hampshire 1975. Churchwarden Wherwell Parish.

    Farmer, arable and dairy. Breeds and breaks horses; trains shooting labradors; hunts mainly with The Portman; shoots, fishes. Knowledgeable on wild birds, animals and wild flowers.

    Charles married Pamela Mary Gibbs on 10 Mar 1944.
